Tenants and Residents Associations - Achievements

Our Tenants and Residents Associations are always busy with projects, making a positive impact on their communities. Some of their achievements and plans are listed below.

Community Hero Awards (Outer South Area)

During the summer of 2009, representatives form a number of residents Associations within the Rothwell and Morley areas of South Leeds were presented with Community Hero Awards at a ceremony, held at Rodillian High School in Lofthouse, by the Lord Mayor of Leeds Cllr Judith Elliott. They received their awards for displaying dedication and hard work towards improving the communities in which they live.

Michael Carter, Community Voice, Scholes

Well done to Michael who, on the 15th December at the Manor House Community Centre, organised a Christmas party for over 70 elderly residents from the Belle Vue area of Scholes. Michael has rejuvenated the area and older residents who do not usually get out much, have found a new lease of life. They are now enjoying a much more active social life and have made themselves lots of new friends.

Whinmoor B Residents Association

Whinmoor B had a busy summer / autumn putting their green fingers to good use for the benefit of the whole community. The group, in preparation for the late spring bloom, planted 2000 daffodil bulbs in the grounds of Swarcliffe Primary School. The group were assisted by community service workers who helped with the heavy digging.
