At Aire Valley Homes Leeds we have set up a system whereby we can monitor what is going on in our estates in relation to the Environment, ASB and crime. We work closely with LCC Agencies and contractors in maintaining our estates together with the Police and Anti-Social Behaviour Unit to try to improve living standards on our estates.
To improve the environmental surroundings on our estates we have arranged for our Tenancy Management Officers to inspect and report on anything that needs attention when they are out on their patches. We also have a series of regular estate walkabouts in place, the dates, times and the estates to be visited are available to download on the right. You are welcome to join us.

Below is a sample of the issues that will be looked at on the organised walkabouts and on a day to day basis:
- Is the street clean and free of litter?
- Are there any overgrown footpaths?
- Are there any untidy gardens in this street?
- Are there any properties that have broken windows?
- Is there any graffiti on the walls of properties or on the footpaths?
- Is the entrance to your street signposted and is the sign free from graffiti?
If you live in a block of flats with a shared communal entrance our Tenancy Management Officers will look at
- Is the entrance doorway clean and free from litter?
- Is the lift in good working order, is it clean?
- If hand rails are fitted, are these clean and free from grime?
- Are the windows clean and free from grime?
- Are the doors and door panels clean?
- Are the floors swept and free from litter?

Performance
To date in 2009/10 we have carried out 100% of our scheduled walkabouts in the Garforth, Kippax, Morley, Rothwell and Swarcliffe areas. The dates for 2010/11 are now available on the right.
