Area Panels
Each one of our 3 Area Panels are made up of up to 12 tenants, some of which will be members of a tenant's group, a Board Member and 2 Ward Councillors.
The Area Panels have a broad remit that includes managing an annual budget for environmental projects and a budget to support community activities. The Panels also monitor our performance, including tenants' satisfaction with our services and are consulted on new policies and practices before they become part of the service to our customers more widely.
The Area Panels represent a forum where local residents get to make decisions that affect the services and conditions in their local area. Each panel has 2 budgets, one for community involvement and one to allow them to provide funding to undertake environmental projects.
Bids will be considered from almost anyone as long as the project or scheme benefits AVHL tenants and/or the area in which AVHL tenants live. Once the funding application is received it is discussed by the relevant panel and a decision is made.
The link on the right of this page will take you to the Area Panel Budget Application form and Guidance Notes or you can contact a member of the Customer Involvement Team and they will be happy to send you one.

Occasionally the three Area Panels work together to fund projects across the whole of the Aire Valley Homes management area. Below are examples of their joint working.
Slipper Campaign
The Falls Awareness campaign aimed at our older and more vulnerable residents is continuing across the whole of the Aire Valley Homes Area. Events have now taken place at Crescent Grange, Holbeck; Ingram Gardens, Hunslet; Halliday Court, Garforth and a further one is to be held at Northfields in Rothwell.
All Area Panels have funded this project to enable us to visit the whole of the Aire Valley Homes area. It is a well known fact that wearing loose and ‘sloppy’ footwear can lead to falls. Our project swaps your old slippers for new ones to try to limit the number of falls in and around the home. Once this programme is completed we may be able to hold further events so watch out for notices around your estate to find out when we will be visiting you.
