Leeds is one of the country’s most up and coming cities – prosperous, exciting and the region’s centre for culture, clubbing and shopping – a great place to grow up in. But not all of Leeds' people have had their fair share of the action.
Aire Valley Homes Leeds is committed to improving the life chances and opportunities of children and young people growing up in our neighbourhoods.
We work with a number of organisations to run activities and projects for young people.
Recently we have worked with the Alive and Kicking Theatre Company, putting on a play called The Princess Who Forgot How to Play at a number of primary schools, highlighting the impact of anti-social behaviour. Click here to see more photos of the events on Flickr. There was also an article on the project in the Yorkshire Evening Post which can be downloaded from the right.
We have also worked with the Residents Group, In Bloom Group and Groundwork Trust on a series of environmental projects on the John O'Gaunts estate in Rothwell. The John O'Gaunts Community Allotment Environment Project has been shortlisted for an award for Best Community Initiative from The National Federation of ALMOs. Please see our page on the project for more information.
