The Quality Assessment Visits were very positive. The organisation has achieved a robust Level C standard in all areas. Level B can be achieved for Complaints, Security, Health and Safety, and Protection from Abuse in the very near future. Much work towards other QAF areas is also being undertaken by the provider to achieve Level B standard.
The Supporting People Team will continue to work closely with the provider as part of the contract management process and look at improving and achieving Level B for all QAF areas.

In March we reported all our services had improved to grade "C" and we are pleased that last week the supporting people team awarded an excellent rating in respect of "protecting Vulnerable People " from abuse, one of the six core objectives.
This achievement clearly shows we are delivering good services in sheltered housing and improving all the time. We are delighted with the news, particularly for our customers and we would like to thank all our customers who took part in the face to face survey, which contributed to our "excellent " rating.
We would like to say a special thank you to all the members of the sheltered focus group who helped to shape services in this very sensitive area. It is a great step forward to be rated "excellent " in one area but we want to keep improving and achieve the highest possible standard of excellence in all six areas in relation to sheltered housing, this is why we have set ourselves the ambitious target of the remaining five core service objectives being rated B by the April 09
We will keep you up to date with our progress and if you would like to help us then why not contact Judy Hyde on 2477055 or email avhleeds.shelteredservicesteam@avhleeds.org.uk and join our sheltered focus group, or talk to your warden when you see her next.
